Hey guys, i have a standard quick release bolt but was wondering if i could somehow fit a 12mm through axle to work

Most likely they are specific to the fork brand which you failed to mention.

I don't think its possible. Unless you change your drop out on your frame too, since 12mmTA is bigger than 10mm (10mm is the biggest axle that can take by open drop out frame)
