So I'm buying my first dirt jump bike. All Ive ever ridden before was a 15" Trek Ticket signature, that's the bike that i taught myself everything I've learned about dirt jumping on and besides hitting my knees from time to time on the bars, and once on the stem I loved it. The TT on the Trek is 22.44", the TT on the Jackal is 23.5", and the TT on the 357 is 22". The Jackal I've found is a 2012 and is a custom build not sure if it will work for me but its a start. 357 is all stock except the frame has been resprayed a different color. Which bike (the Jackal or the 357) would you guys recommend to me? I'm not looking to spend more than $600 and both of these bikes are the exact same price. Any feedback, experiences, advice, and anything else is welcome.

Details about me: I'm 6'3 6'4 ish, I measured my "bike inseam" last night and it came out to be the same as my pants. 34". I'm no small guy either 240lbs so I know I'm going to break things at some point.

Details about the jackal:
Manitou Nixon fork : 150mm travel
origin 8 headset
truvativ hussefelt stem
race face ride handle bars
lizard skin bear claw grips
avid juicy 5 rear hydraulic brake
170mm rotor
shimano zee crankset 32T 170
front shimano deore hub
rear hayes superlight hub
25 lbs roughly

The Manitou Nixon fork with 150mm travel seems weird. A dirt jumper like a Jackal is supposed to have an 80mm or 100mm fork. Mayyyyybe 120. Not 150.

If you could hold out for something like a Rocky Mountain DJ Flow that came in a 22.5"tt size, or a complete TRANSITION Trail or Park 23"tt, then do that........

When you were measuring the top tube on the Trek at 22.44, were you measuring "effective" top tube or "actual top tube." "Actual top tube" is normally measured from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube. The reason I'm asking is that companies are not consistent on how they publish the numbers.

I really think you need a 22.5" or 23" actual top tube.
