Small Block 8's are the best tire's I've ever ran on my hardtail. I'm not going to bother trying any other tires.

Small block 8 tires will be the only thing I run anymore as well. 2.1 in the front 1.95 in the back. Perfect.

Sure.

whats the plus to have bigger in the front and smaller in the back?

You don't need a wide rear tire. Larger up front is nice for better cornering.

I run 2.35"

bigger in front: more traction, less likely to wash out
smaller in back: less rolling resistance and weight
