I've literally just got the 2016 v3 essential and the pike rc's so far feel really good, I think unless you're a top level rider you probably won't notice the difference

Awesome,

I'm kind of torn between a v4 and a 2016 capra al1 comp

Yeah just saw the cheapest capra is £1600, not sure how they are compared to the v4, rode a capra once and not sure if it was the way the guy had the suspension set up or what, but I wasn't overly keen on it

The capra i was thinking of getting is the new al1 comp, which has a lyrik up front. They both work out at about 2k shipped and the commencal is slightly lighter

O+

The Capra also has 165mm travel rear and 170 up front while the commerncal has 150 rear 160 front.

Yep, I don't think i can warrant a bike with that much travel for the sort of stuff i ride atm though tbh.

Yep. Commencal is definitely a good choice. A little better for easier trails, but could still handle some harder trails.

WANT! have the 2015 and now want this, what are the alpha cranks like?

Havnt done anything particularly gnarly on it yet, but so far so good, couldn't feel any noticeable flex, the plans so far is to get a 40mm stem instead of the 50, new bars, change the rims/wheels and then the cranks

The Supreme DH V4 is such a nice bike, but how can the geometry be soooo small?! The XL has a reach of 425mm?! Such a pity that so many great bikes are not made for tall people.

I wouldn't judge until you ride one, short reach could just make it a lot more playful!
