Ive got E4 up front and X2 out back, both on 183mm rotors. There isn't enough clearance on the E4 caliper on the rear.

Gary did you try the e4 with 203 rotor in the rear? On the meta v4 forum someone is saying it fits. (might be different with other frameseizes).

I didn't. I do have a 203 rotor and mounts. Will try over weekend.
Will have some spare 203 purple rotors shortly as well... Wink

Hey guys, I would need some buying advice. I am currently looking for an all mountain bike to get for my wife. Pretty much something that you can pedal uphill nicely, but also take for the occasional bike park lap and hit some jumps and drops.
Currently i am stuck between a meta am v3 essential and the v4 origin (probably the marzocchi one, although I might fork out the extra 100 bucks for the rock shox one, depending on my tax return).
The reviews I have read so far for the v4 look promising, but I can't find much about the v3 at all. So which one do you guys think is the better choice here?

V4: http://www.commencalusa.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=17825779&ExitMobile=1

Thanks

I have no experience of the newer V3 but my V4 definitely out performs my 26" V3. Much more grip and more stable at speed, especially throuh the rough stuff

I have a v4 and it has great uphill performance (basically an XC bike) and descends like my old freeride bike. From what I have heard, the v3 is a better descender, but cannot compete when things turn uphill. I'd say the v4, but I'm a bit of a fanboy.

I own a 2015 META AM V3, Rockshox suspended. I bought a V3 because it was (and it still is) my dream bike but if you're looking for the best bike, you'd better choose the V4. Climbing has been improved a lot, and you can get the Rockshox V4 for 100 bucks more than Rockshox V3's price. The V3 has a slightly more "DH handling" because of the suspension pivot design, but it is still a good climber. In my opinion, the V4 is the best deal, since the AM V3 has been selling for 3 years by now and I dare say it's a little overpriced.

that V4 that is only a little more comes with the Rock Shox Yari instead of a pike and also a lower end shock.

The different rear shock (Monarch RT vs. RT3) isn't really that important, you don't really need a climb switch on the V4 in my experience,

Hi guys! The Monarch on my META feels very lazy and does not plush well at low temperatures. How about your shock?

ive got the monarch rt3, guess its the same as yours? it feels fine on my bike, not amazing, but then i never expected it to be, it handles big hits like drops etc alright but its not awe inspiring, hopefully something that will be upgraded, im thinking either the float x or the 053
