Quick advice/opinions needed.
Currently riding a 2013 trance x2 and have done the past year.

Fancy an upgrade, demo'd a 2015 trance 2 last weekend and loved it.
However i have the opportunity to get a 2014 trance SX for a couple hundred quid less than it and it's also brand new, but I can't test it. Anyone know of or ridden both and know if there's much odds? The 2014 has a dropper (and a better colour scheme) but not much in it as far as I can see.
Any input would be great.

depends on your expectations, both come with Fox Evolution fork and shock, which many owners ended up upgrading, otherwise the main differences are the SX's 160mm fork and 1x10 drivetrain.

The 2015 SX has a much better spec, now has 1x11 drivetrain, Pike fork and Monarch+ Debonair shock, so if you can squeeze a bit more budget, the 2015 Trance SX or 1 would be worth it.

The new Trance one comes with Rockshox Revolation RC forks and Monarch RC3 shock, which are better than the fox evo suspension that a 2014 trance 1 comes with. The 2015 trance also comes with carbon rims, and giant (dt internasl) hubs and the new nobby nic tires. It is a bit more expensive to last years trance so it goes down to what you want, to upgrade your current bike or pick up a new one. It's a seriously nice bike if you are willing to splash out on one.

The 2014 trance has worse brakes - deore - compared to the 2015 trance 2, and has 1x10 shimano zee/slx drivetrain, so it depends how flat the area is that you live in, you could always add a 42t casette cog to the SX if you want a lower low gear. It depends whether you have access to uplift riding or are willing to put up with the lower spec compared to a 2015 trance 2, compared to just putting a dropper post and some 160mm forks on your current bike.

Cheers for the input guys, went with the 2014 Trance SX.
Getting a wider bar & slightly shorter stem stuck on while building it up too.
That'll do for now hopefully as I'm bankrupt all over again!
