Hey I was wondering if the surly karate monkey can handle 3 inch tires with wide rims? I'm trying to build up a ss 29+ bike and I'd prefer not to deal with replacing dropouts and cassette on the krampus. Or if anybody knows of a bike that is already set up for ss 29+

I would regularly rub the corner knobs of a 2.35" wide Hans dampf during hard cornering. There is no way a 3" will fit.

I tried putting a 2.4 Chunky Monkey in my KM with the axle slammed forward and it barely fit. I didn't even try to ride it because I knew it would rub. a 2.4 might fit if you pull the axle back a bit but that's still pushing it.
