X.9 10 spd rear derailleur type 2

Setting up 1×10. Which shifters will work with this derailleur? Do I need the x.9 or will the 7 or 5 work? What are the pros and cons of mixing these components?

The 7 or 5 will work if they are 10 spd, but it would probably be better to install an X9 shifter. Usually it's better to use a better shifter and a lower grade derailleur because there is almost no difference in derailleurs other than weight but higher grade shifters do work better.
