i have the option of buying one of the 2 bikes in the title....prices are almost the same (2k) as the Horsethief has a clear out price.

wondering what i should go with, the Salsa is clearly the better deal but I've been riding Specialized for the last 10 years and i'm a little concerned about changing...and also the Camber seems a little too XC

any suggestions would be great

I almost bought a salsa and I ended up with a bandit 29. I would give salsa a try that is supposed to be an awesome bike. I did lots of research on that bike and it got great reviews. Specialized are always pretty solid. Try breaking the mold!!

One big factor for me is Specialized's proprietary shock, plus yes its geometry is more XC than the Horsethief.
Salsa has a shorter warranty?

I ended up going with the Horsethief.....the deal was too good to pass up, retailed at $3600 and i got it for $2000

cant wait for the snow to melt but by the looks of things that will take some time

its a really good bike, great uphill and downhill, very nimble for a 29er...couldn't be happier
