Squamish BC, 16 deg's yesterday and pure Sunny. Warmest place in Canada and new weather record. Pure sun and 13 next 3 days. EPIIIIC! brown pow to be had there right now, all trails have been open for weeks. There was a bunch of rain there last week with days now of sun is pretty much the exact recipe for traction.
Here's the plan: Cancel your plans! Start thinking up excuses for everyone in your life... There is that nasty cold going around, grab any riding buddy available. Dont think, throw your bike in your truck and drive the Duffy to Squamy right meow! Go shuttle The 19th Hole and area and you will forget about any trail near the Okanagan. Bringing an AM bike?... Sweet enjoy the 50 trails that are all interconnected that absolutely destroy anything we have.
A nugg climax orgasm is only a 5 hr drive away. If XB did not convert to road he would join you as well.
This is that weekend you will talk about for the rest of you life! Be a man, take charge of your life, go ride!
On your way to Squamish V-J ... Stop in Pemberton for a day (in spring), only 4 hrs away. Very similar climate to Vernon even thou it's 20 min from Whistler, weird... Hot and dry in Summer, tasty and tacky in spring. People that don't know go to Whistler, people who want to ride way better stuff for free with no traffic and ppl around in an amazing valley with epic views ride Pemberton. Every trail in the town is a 10 minute ride from town, Leave your car @ the Bike Shop and ride from there, boom 10 minutes to trail head. Wanna shuttle cool, there is a FSR to shuttle all the best DH stuff there, that takes you very high elevation for high vert. Pemberton has the most rock slab riding period in BC, makes Nelson look weak. Theres is like 20x the rock of Hammered Cow on 1 trail alone there, and there is a bunch of rock slab trails. Also there is some of the steepest, gnarliest, chutiests, scariest dh stuff there if you wanna ride it... But most is do-able on am bike. This video shows some of the Slabs there :
And in this Squamy video you can ride everything in this video in 1 loop right now... Pinkbike even posted a Trailforks map of the ride this guy did all mapped out so you can do the exact same ride, pretty cool.
