So I recently purchased an older karate monkey frame (2009 I think) and I needed a fork for it. So I bought a xfusion trace rl2 thinking it would work fine. Since I'm totally new to this I didn't realize that this was a tapered fork. So my problem is I don't think I can use this fork on my older karate monkey due to the tapered issue. Does anyone know if there is an adapter that won't completely throw off the bikes geometry? It's either that or sell the fork and get a straight 1 1/8 fork....

You can use a tapered frame with a straight 1 1/8 fork, with an adapter.
You can't use a straight 1 1/8 frame with a tapered fork, unless the frame has an internal bottom diameter of 44mm. Than these are an option: superstar components tapertech or http://store.canecreek.com/p/40-ec44-40-bottom-assembly.

Edit. The cane creek doesn't seem to add thát much to the total heigt.
