So, I picked up a 2003 S-Works Enduro the other day, ragged it around a bit, and felt some looseness in the rear end, the shock mount bolt was broken, no big deal I think...

How wrong I was.

Broken

Undo the linkage to get the broken bit out, and the two sides fall apart in my hand.

BETD haven't got a linkage in stock, and I don't get on with the local specialized dealer near me (Being a bike shop owner has it's downsides sometimes!)

Now, as a bit of a bodgy fix for now I've done this...

Fixed

8mm hole, steel bolt, nylock nut.

Questions:

Does anyone have experience with these frames/linkages? Are they prone to cracking?
Does anyone know where I can get another linkage from?

To answer your questions....

1. Yes they are prone to cracking when they have some age to them and have been ridden hard. The bikes are made to endure some punishment but after awhile if being ridden hard the linkage will get hairline fractures and eventually do this... Your best bet is to find a second hand part somewhere as I doubt the spare parts bin is that deep.
