So, I had a shovel that suffered a critical injury.. Broken handle. I wanted to try something and having the parts on hand, I welded a 4130 (TT stock) handle to the head and, well, it sucked but that was the problem with the head the handle was good. Then the head cracked. Bummer, now that was a waste of 1.5 top tubes and it sat for years.

Then I had a new idea, not original idea mind you I got it from BF in this vid. Don't even know if the shovel is his.

So, out came the grinder....

And I cut off the damaged head, and the crack at the end of the spine. Then the welder came out Smile

And I got this!

Ran over the plate with my van and got a remotely decent bend, the thing is pretty heavy but that's cool. Can't wait to try it out.
