sends fake paypal payment confirmation emails hoping you will ship the bike
Try writing your full experience in one message, makes things easier for everyone, if you still have the email contact paypal and they will ask you to forward the email to them with his email, they should take it from there.
yorkshireman(scott g bowlby) has scammed me for a set of forks paid for but not recieved.stupidly paid via bank transfer as he claimed not to have a paypal account any help would be great thanks dean (covecoilerdean)
Right so had a bit of a nightmare with some cranks i bought on here.
The seller was Renouf. He claimed them to be in good condition with no footrub and just a few scratches.
When they arrived, they had surface rust over a large proportion of the cranks, including the face of them which had obviously been rubbed. They also had alot of deep scratches on them, and the axle was very chewed up.
After fitting them and riding very lightly for 10 minutes, it was/is apparent that the interface is worn to the point that the crank was loose on the spindle.
I requested a full refund through texting him and said i'd pay for them to be posted back to him. He replied with a load of excuses saying they were fine when he had them. He no longer will respond to my texts so he clearly is avoiding me.
The problem is, i paid by paypal gift (i know, very, very silly me) so cannot create a dispute.
Can a mod put pressure on him to try to get him to refund me and mark him as a scammer if possible please?
Cheers.
That's odd as I've got on well with him in the past. Can't remember if we bought/sold, but I deffinatly don't remember anything bad about the guy...
Why doesn't the collective all start messaging him. I'd be happy to start. On TGR (Teton Gravity Research) forums there is very little chance of scamming because the group is very tight and will do whatever is needed to call out and "fix" problems like this. Other members have been known to visit problem sellers and persuade them to rethink their ways. We have plenty of personal info to start the process.
I had a similar situation here that just recently finished up. I got into his life and "forced" him into making good. I started with his friends list and found someone who knew him. Worked my way through it till he understood it was in his best interest to make things right. Fear of your life being messed with is a great motivator.
