So, i have stripped my frame down to replace the rounded off bolts from the previous owner and also change the bearings whilst im at it. When trying to separate the chainstay and seatstay, i removed this insert. However in doing so, i damaged it and it needs replacing. I've spent a long time looking online but had no luck to what it is Cry Cry Cry

Its basically a threaded insert/bush. Two M5 bolts thread into it from either side, holding the chainstay and seatstay together at the rear. It measures: 18.5mm long, 8mm outer diameter, then 5mm (M5) internal. It should be smooth along its outer diameter, but those markings are from where i had to use some mole grips to remove the bastard!

So, can any one help? I've attached some pictures below, aswell as a link to something i found which is similar, but not the correct size

I've got everything else sorted, my frame and headset bearings have arrived, and i've got my stainless steel bolts and rear shock bushes on order, so im just waiting on this now!

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction!

Contact the maker of the bike. They more than likely sell the parts.

That is called a pivot pin, there will be two brass/nylon bushings in either the chain or seatstay that the pin rotates in when the suspension is in movement

A picture of the bike would be beneficial to assist in directing you to a solution

It's a Maxim Leela. A Welsh branded 150mm trail bike

I've tried contacting them on multiple occasions through email, phone and Facebook and only got one reply!

Thanks for the info on pivot pin, will have a proper look later

Ask about, see if you can find someone who works in an engineering shop. They will be able to knock one of them up in there lunch break,no problem.I had to get some stuff made for my Rocky Mountain years ago, tried everywhere to get the part,to no avail.Took it to an engineering shop around the corner, they charged me £20 for 2 of what I needed, simple.

Thank you!

I will have alook and see who's local. I've found a website that offers pivot pins and you can get them custom built, so i'm currently waiting to hear back from them...

So annoyed with all the extra hassle this has caused me but ohwell

Cheers

You might have some luck with McMaster-Carr. They sell a lot of small random machine parts. I've had some luck with them previously. I'm not entirely sure if they ship to the UK though.
