.
what is the next smaller size tire that is currently available on the market .

which is smaller than 29x3.0.

if that makes sense.

i did find a vee tire claiming to be 29x2.8
but it seems to be unavailable.

my goal is to find the biggest 29er tire i can get, with really low profile tread
that will clear the frame and the forks without rubbing

the 29x3.0 is just a tiny bit too big

A friend just built a 29+ and went with the panracer Fat-B-Nimble 29+ tire, We both have the same 50mm rims and my Bontrager Chupacabras were noticeably wider than his panracer...... they actually measure just a hair over 2.75"

when i measure. the 3 areas where a big tire will rub
are on the 2 frame rear triangle spots and where tires passes the fork
of those 3 locations,
..........the smallest measurement is 3"
and that is the top of rear triangle -frame section

the other 2 areas measure 3-1/8"
