Looking for a new race steed. Will only need the frame since I have parts already. I am 6'4" and 195lbs and I like to think skilled rider. I live in Texas that's mostly flat by me with short up and downs but saying that I do like to travel and ride more aggressive terrain. Looking forward to your input. Thank you

Edit: forgot to say it would be a full suspension.

Kinda what I was thinking. What bikes do you like?

Haha. Guess I should of put this in the all mountain/endure/xc forum rather than 29.

I did ride the V10 in Whistler last year and it felt limitless. I have not tried any xc or trail bikes of theirs but I have been wanting too. I will find some to demo soon. Which frames are you a fan of?

and about that 120mm. I recently went from a 100mm fork to a 120mm fork and holy cow did it make a bigger difference than I ever expected. I liked the nimbleness of the 100 but the extra 20mm was really an astounding difference so yeah go with 120mm.

The rear of my Tallboy is 100mm and it's perfect for XC never have I felt it need to be more.

I'm 5"11 and ride a large 2012 Jet 9 RDO, a tad big for me really, great bike though. Need's couple hundred in repairs and my bike shop offered an even trade for a 2014 Giant Anthem Advanced 27.5, seriously considering. They told me XC racers were moving to 27.5, given your height and flat open terrain I'd say go 29er.

O+

I read the XC crowd is 120mm and 29" these days. Enduro/DH I'd go with 27.5, lots of options for travel. If you're racing your sister I can't help you though.
