Hi Everyone,

Iv just bought a MSC F4 that has a black anodised frame, i want to de-anodise it and then polish up the aluminium and clear coat.

Iv looked online but wondered if anybody on here had any experience de-anodising and if so what guide did you use?

Possibly thinking of re-anodising it a different colour, anybody had any expierence with anodising ?

What you are proposing usually requires complete immersion in chemicals.i don't know how you'd do it yourself!

i found this website who seemed to think caustic soda would do it

I've used oven cleaner, or simple green cleaner on RC parts before. I just followed guides off one of the RC forums I found. A bike is a whole lot bigger though.

the re-anodising i would have done professionally, but i have thought about stripping and then polishing and clear coating it

Have you found somewhere to anodise it? I tried a few years ago with no success
