I am new to dirt jumping too, I got the Specialized P3, it's $1,000, but it's an awesome and solid bike, it has a stiff suspension fork so it helps with overshooting or undershooting a bit. I do definitely think you should get it, also IT ISN'T THE SAME COLOR IT SHOWS ON THE WEBSITE, it's a much nicer metallic blue-teal. Overall a great bike.
