So I bought a bmx bike a while ago and I was looking at getting new hubs but I don't understand the difference between the different axle sizes and things like that. I have a hub like this with a through axle thing through it that holds the driver and baring in

Really there are only 2 different sizes of rear axle diameter. 14mm and 10mm. your hubs look like 14mm, and th Shadow BTR has a female axle/ 14mm bolt instead of the Male threaded axle you're running now.

All pretty basic stuff, you could google these questions and get answers a lot faster than waiting for someone to respond on pb.

Im actually not trying to be snippy right now, but its true. Google is better for answering questions than most message boards. These boards are mostly for opinions, edits and bike pics.

Sorry, forgot to mention. The Shadow BTR is a damn good hub as far as specs for cassette hubs go. Heavier than most 'pro' hubs but not too expensive and it looks reliable. Big bearings, huge body, large flanges, decent driver design. I was literally going to grab one last month but I found a Premium stinger at half price and couldn't resist.

In summary, the Shadow BTR good, but the best thing to do when buying hubs is just go to the lbs and see what they have. A lot of deals out there locally that beat anything ive seen online.
