I recently got a used 2007 Specialized FSR XC Comp and was wondering if anyone can tell me what length of stem would have been fitted to this bike when new? Frame size is large.
It currently has a 120mm stem (6deg rise) fitted and to be honest it doesn't feel too wrong even though I'm a bit on the shorter size for a large frame size. Maybe I should drop down something steep and see if I go over the bars?
Had a look on Specialized's website but it just says "Aluminum, 7 degree rise, OS 31.8, 4 bolt, black". The length is not listed: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/fsrxccomp/20911
Got a 60mm stem on order but would still like to know what it had originally. Thanks for any advice.
Please can I ask what you used for the source of this info?
Guess I'm just trying to figure out how sure you are of the 105mm length because that's pretty huge by modern standards. I guess it does explain why the bike doesn't feel totally odd with the 120mm stem. I wonder if I should have ordered a 80mm or 90mm replacement rather than a 60mm.
