Hi Ethan,

Why in particular do you think the cipher is better than the dissident?

Thanks!

I havent tried on a dissdent comp but i have used the cipher and it just seems and feels like it has better quality of build compared to the dissdent.

Do you know why I'm about to tell you to stop convincing someone of something?

"Haven't tried on a dissendant"

"(Cipher) seems and feels like it as better quality of a build"

How can you make the assumption when you've never even worn both?

having held both in my hands, i will confidently say that the giro is made with higher quality materials for the liner.

Ya agreed i didn't mean to try to tell them to buy the cipher. I think they should definitely try both on before buying if possible.

I think the rule of thumb is try them on at a shop then make a decision based on fitment quality safety etc one mans great helmet could be another mans poor helmet .

No shops in my area that sell these helmets.

Im still curious about the quality of the dissident comp...

So, my brother and I are in the midst of buying a new helmet each so have cleaned out CRC/Wiggle/Tredz, in our search for decent fitting brain protection. Thought it might be of interest to some of you searching for new helmets to see some of the different brands/models side by side:

Here's the weights/sizes:
Airoh Stelt M 1020g My MX helmet
Shark SXR M 1400g Bro's MX helmet
D3 XL 1270g
D2 M/L 1080g My old helmet
POC Cortex Flow L/XL 1120g
661 Evo M 1120g Old helmet.
Bell Transfer 9 XL 1310g
Giro Cipher L 1290g
Giro Cipher M 1190g
THE .5 L 970g Old helmet

The new Cipher is an excellent helmet, as is the Bell (if a bit massive), the POC I do not rate at all, and the D3, is a D3!

Sizewise they're all over the shop, I could not find a good fit on either a L or XL D3, coming from a M/L D2, so am going for a Cipher M, very impressed with these, especially for the price vs a D3.

Big thanks to Wiggle and CRC for their superb returns!

Which did you prefer the bell transfer 9 or the giro cipher undecided between them two

How's the sizing compared to a D3 ? Same-ish or less pinch on the top of your head ?

Decided I'd explode myself a rib cage And mess up myself internally. Helmet did it's job for sure though, foam compressed and the shell of the helmet has a fine crack.

It's a god damn good thing I got the D3 on sale.. I would still be crying if I payed off sale prices lol
