I'm about to buy a 100% aircraft helmet online, the first gen. My head is 58cm.

100% Aircraft suggest this sizing.

Medium: 57-58cm
Large: 59-60cm

I can't try the helmet but I did try the Fox Rampage Carbon and they have the same size chart. The Medium was the best fit for me. The large wasn't bad but I didn't felt it was the right one. On the TLD D3, I tried the medium and it was wayyyyy to tight.

Do you guys know if it is true to size helmet or it's definitely tighter? I am reading a lot of mixed feelings on the size. Thanks!

I was in the same boat, I went from a medium Specialized Dissident to a large Aircraft MIPS. I tried on a medium D3 and it felt way too tight as well.

100% uses two different helmet shell sizes: S/M is the smaller shell, L/XL the larger shell. The medium, despite being just one size smaller than the large, feels TOTALLY different due to this. When I tried on a medium, the cheek pads were basically smashing into my earlobes. The large fits like a dream however.

I'd get a large if the medium D3 was too tight. Also I'd recommend buying from a retailer that offers free returns for any expensive item that has different sizes.

Thanks buddy, I will go with the large!

anyone know how these compare to airbrakes?

I didn't try this one but in comparaison with my old 100% it's day and night.

Nicely built, super confortable (thermoformed foam), no fog, scratch resistance 10x better than 100% iridium, unlimited field of vision, nose protector included (even if I don't use mine), etc.
I think it's hard to beat that, especially for 100 bucks.

Didn't you just get them? How do you know they're harder to scratch?

Also, you could have got two pairs of accuri's for that money. (Not trying to be a downer but put it into perspective for a second.)

While more expensive goggles look dope. I have a hard time justifying getting anything more expensive than the accuris. They look ok, rarely fog, good mud clearing systems, and good field of view. Only issue is the clear lens scratches kinda easily, but 100% replaces them for free at races here

Yep, this one is new but I already rode one since september on my previous D3 (I also rode it many times with the roll-off).

Also, you could have two pairs of this one for the price of a Airbrake, if you want to put it into perspective. Razz
And it's closer to the Oakley than an entry level Accuri. Of course this is a high-end goggle, Scott also have entry-level products (never try them).
My previous comparaison was just because Accuri are the goggles I rode during the last 3 years. I just wanted to say that, in my opinion, it worth to pay 1/3 more of the price (Accuri is 60$, Prospect 90$).

Accuri is a great value for sure, but they fog a lot and the scratches resistance is a shame. And unfortunately I never got the chance to get some free lens on any race !
Field of vision is ok but now it would be hard to come back to it for me.

Crazy cost to put on what is essentially a wear component (lenses)

Blown away by how good Melon's Parker goggle is, just got back from the alps snowboarding and you can swap the lens straight out for a polarized double layered snow lens and it's probably the best snow goggle I've had too!

I like that everything is replaceable. New foam is $15, strap is $20, lenses are $25. Pretty reasonable.

I know I could have bought two or even three cheaper goggles for the same price, but the lens switching mechanism is worth it. When we leave on big moto loops, I can carry two lenses. If light conditions change, it takes 30 seconds to swap to a clear or dark tint. That makes a big difference.

I'm lucky I got my pair for free. If I had to pay full pop, I wouldn't have pulled the trigger. Now that I have a set, I'm sold. If I come across a second set on sale for cheap, I'll probably buy a set for the boyfriend.

The roll off system of the air brakes makes them even better. Been using it for a while now and it`s a life saver and works almost flawlessly.

Recently bought some POC Iris Flow googles and ran them at a very wet Stiniog this weekend and they were amazing! Link shows them currently on sale and for the money you won't go wrong!

Not helmet related...just general protection news!
The heavy-duty Dakine knee pads Aggy wore on the last Rampage are starting to apear in some online shops.
Aggy channeling that line choice.

They are called Dakine Mayhem Knee Pads. The have a removable composite knee cover and foam protection on the sides and top shin part.

Think because you are on a mobile device.
