Anybody know if the 2012 demo 8 comes witht he Cam in the high bb or low bb position? bought the frame only and figured Id ask here to see if anybody knew before I bother to take the shock off and check. I assume low.
drink a big old cup of man the f*ck up. The arm pump will get better the more you get used to it.
Retarded attitude. This thread is about how to win DH races. Training properly, on and off the bike, is a massive part of this. The stronger your forearms are, the more control you will have. If you put in the hours and effort off the bike to improve forearm strength, you'll see the results when riding, same as taking any sport seriously to a high level.
How do i jump like in gaps? Do i Have to pull on the handlebars? How do i go fast on big rock sections? How should i land and what body position ShoulD i be in the air before landing?

trying to remember to relax my hands on the bars and centreing my weight over the BB, " heavy feet light hands" helps me enjoy long DH sections. pressups on fingertips (not hand flat on the floor)

Dont start with gaps, youll end up broken. Start with Tabletops and learn how to jump the bike on flat ground.. that will give you an idea how you need to handle the bike and also teach you how to commit to air.
big rock sections... ride the line not the trail, keep speed up and skip across the tops of rocks.

you will find out by riding your bike and watching other guys, skipping across means tapping your tyres on the top of the rocks on a rock garden instead of letting your wheels sink into the holes

Ride with someone better than you and take your time
When there's a rock garden try to use one of the first rocks that's kinda angled in a way where u could jump it almost and hop your way through sections or just go fast and skim over the tops. I just got back on the dh bike after 3 months of no riding and my cornering ability and confidence has increased dramatically. I'm leaning into it more and putting more trust into the rubber. but I'm still kinda awkward going Into right turns. I tend to not get the angle right so I'll turn too sharp or not sharp enough and have to correct mid turn. Also I still don't have balls to jump cuz I don't have confidence in the air. Any tips besides the usual go fast and pull

Wrong!! build up speed slowly, start small move up to bigger stuff once technique is dialled,do not 'pull up on bars' as most accidents on jumps are caused by movement before leaving the ground! keep weight centered on bike elbows out and bent, knees bent and let the transition do its thing, the speed you enter the jump and the angle of the transition will determine how far, high etc you will jump. Pushing or pumping slowly into the ground on transition, as you get better, will increase your distance/height but, this should be done evenly and timed, like compressing a spring, then release the stored energy as leaving trans' for that extra oomf!! But get the feel of just hitting the jump and getting the feel of being in the air sorted first, another good tip is to try to keep moving your bike, even in very small amounts, while airborne this will keep YOU in control, remember to squash out your landing using arms/legs and try to land both wheels at the same time and in line with the landing,ALWAYS roll unknown jumps first, get the feel for it. Happy flying!
I've just had my DH bike and nothing else for the last 3-4 years and then a month ago I buyed a hardtail and my riding has improved so much it's insane! BUY A HARDTAIL!
