Hey Edmonton,

If anyone is interested in helping Calgary get it's first public dirt jump park please check out the link I have posted. We (Bike Parks Calgary) are holding a raffle to raise the funds to implement phase one of construction hopefully this spring. The info is in the link, if anyone has more questions feel free to DM me. You also then have the chance to win a brand new Chromag Monk Frame or Autographed Semenuk Overature Saddle.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bike-parks-calgary-frame-raffle

please do share with others that would want to see this BikePark happen!

CheersBig Grin

Is anyone else from Edmonton going down to Frostbike in Vernon? It's gonna be a blast! Let me know if you're gonna be there and we can grab a beer or something.

Hi Everyone,

EMBA is putting together a promotional video to showcase the great riding we have in our city.
If anyone is interested in the project please get in touch. Details are in the link below.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3jsotp0h431n1n4/RFP-EMBAfilm.pdf?dl=0

A quick update on what EMBA has been working on lately:

EMBA has been working with the City of Edmonton as they do some development in the Terwilliger area.
http://www.edmonton.ca/city_government/projects_redevelopment/west-end-trails.aspx

We were able to successful save this piece of single track from being paved into a multi-use path.
http://www.trailforks.com/trails/bdsm/

The city is paving this trail; however, before they do that they will be constructing a replacement single track trail.
http://www.trailforks.com/trails/golf-course-trail-16869/
This is likely the first piece of single track that the City of Edmonton has ever built.

We have also been working to ensure http://www.trailforks.com is as up to date as possible.

Hello everyone. I am new to the Edmonton area (leduc) and am looking to do some riding. I love downhill so will be looking for trail riding/ north shore style riding or even downhill if that is even available anywhere around Edmonton? was also wondering is rabbit hill or any ski hill opens or has bike trails for in the summer? looking for some people or a group to go out riding with. currently have 2006 Norco 6/3 so is not so great x country (pretty heavy bike)

Hey @Sharpdustin.

Not too much downhill/freeride around town.

http://www.trailforks.com is definitely a great resource.

The Devon Bike park has a bunch of jumps, features, etc. There are some downhill runs in the city but they are all extremely short and most of them do not link well so you have to pedal from zone to zone.

Here a couple of local favorites to get you started.

Red Deer also has a bike park with some freeride type stunts.

Rabbit Hill ran lift access biking for 5 years and could not make a go of it so the closest lift access is COP in Calgary.

There is some fun little trails around town. Not really any good jumps anywhere. But there is potential. A group of us go to moose mtn which is fun only 3 and a half hours from here lots of fun trails there and a few decent jumps and wood features. Also we go to kamloops and I do trips all the time always have room to take a few people.

Doesn't the sherwood bike park have decent jumps? I only go there for the trials objects, so I've never hit the jumps there

They are not decent jumps haha. Super windy flat field of small jumps. You are better off going to devon

Moose will be good alot earlier this year but the gate always opens the same date in may. Hinton might be good earlier but the only decent trails there are a little higher up the best trail there the one by the Nordic center faces the sun so it might be good. I rode it early May before. But i would not recommend going to hinton to just ride the park there especially when moose and Chester mere are just as close. And devon jumps are ok. They get old quick though tiny little drop to speed check jump to 3 small jumps that when get running fast in the summer you have to break for I find. But the devon park is great for meeting people I met tons of people to ride with from there that otherwise I wouldn't know! So if you are new here definitely check out devon bike park and the trail there can be fun if you really pin it. Also there is a fun little dh trail in devon outside the park

That is great information. thank you. You seem like a pretty experienced rider though. I will most likely ride like a beginner again where it has been so long since i have biked at all. from what i seen the Devon park looks great, but then again it is snow covered right now so time will tell. can't wait to get out there and ride!! maybe sometime when the snow is gone we could meet up and you could show me that DH trail outside the park!!
