Bowmont, Wednesday evening-
Some enticing sections of dry dirt, but there is also a lot of goo.

Canmore.... Goo and ice.

Reclaimer has also been Re-claimed by the recent avalanche or 3 that owned it. look for this trail to be muddy and take a little extra time to clear this summer.

Salute

Just moved to whitecourt, anyone know where to find some good trails close by?

I need help finding a good crew of riders as I'm new to Calgary. I dig riding just about every type of terrain/style but enjoy mostly xc/am trails to get both of best worlds and kicking my a$$ in shape. Just looking for good people who love to ride.

Any trail info would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I get to meet many RAD locals.

If there is a meeting spot for weekend warriors heading to some of the surrounding terrain let me know I don't mind pitching in for gas or using my vehicle either.

Any awesome cycling/riding clubs?

Thanks Mike B

jp/cox won't even be hike ready, and certainly would make for a long and horrible ride. i would guess there's a meter of snow up top!

during riding season, there are always a ton of semi-organized rides (usually wednesday night) and most of the guys who post on this board would be happy to go for a ride...but it ain't riding season quite yet!

Ya, it'll be a while. Moose still has about a meter of snow on T-dub from the rock drop up.

Thanks for the info. from everyone! I am from the Okanagan and of course the weather has been so mild that many of the trails stayed in great shape with maybe only a week or 2 down time. I guess its a little longer of a wait game here. I will keep in touch, check posts and see when some of the bike shops do there rides.

I'm not familiar with any shop nights but a the shuttle companies have some set nights. These will be a great way for you to catch a lift, learn Moose, and meet people.

Thanks I will look into the shuttle co.'s as well.

Hi... Hastings and I went on a recon trip yesterday to Bragg Creek in search of rideable trails and found snow... lots of snow... Moose Mountain fireroad is covered in snow, almost right off the parking lot. We decided not to try it, so I don't know if it gets any better higher up.

We decided to try the Husky road instead to see if ushoulda was rideable. The road is good all the way to the top. Some parts are covered in snow, but if one sticks to the wheels paths, it is good riding and awesome traction.

Once at the top, we went down ushoulda... it isn't ready yet... covered in probably about a foot of snow in lots of places. The bottom is better, with little snow, but it was a workout and an exercise in drifting going down for sure. It has never taken us that long to ride ushoulda. Once at the fork with Elbow Valley, we rode Elbow Valley. It is totally rideable... it is covered in packed snow from hikers, which makes for good riding. Some ice here and there, but nothing too bad.

Overall, it was nice being out in the mountains, but depressing at the same time, as, despite the warm weather we've had, we are still a long way away from riding anything in Bragg Creek.

Hi Fugazzi. If I remember right, you are from Vernon, correctomundo? I inquired about some wheels you were selling a few years back. I only remember because I am from Vernon originally, as well. I'm not an XC/AM guy, but I always like riding with new people, so if you are interested in some shuttling at Moose this season, shoot me a pm. Check out http://www.mmbts.comfor some info about the trails, upcoming build days and events, and to get yourself a membership. Shoot me a pm... I'm Phish! Big Grin

Awesome info. Thanks! I am always up for a ride. Yep I am from Vernon and for sure dont mind getting together with some local rippers for a ride. Just need to know the what the trails are like in terms of shred or work out. Big travel bike or little travel needed.

Bowmont, Monday afternoon and night, 99.9% dry dusty goodness on the upper slopes and sideshow. still some muddy sections down below, so avoid along the river and you're golden.
