From my look at the top 3 days ago I wouldn't go up there without a snow shovel before the end of this heat cycle. I was surprised by the amount of melt by Sunday at the lower levels, but there was a lot of snow up top...

Barring some work by Shell today you'll want good driving skill, good tires, 4x4 or any combination thereof before you head to the top of the road Wink

I could see snow at the first skinny, but it's always a notoriously wet/cold spot.

I'd love to hear someone's report on how it is the whole way.

COP Eastlands is bone dry and in great shape. Was my first time in there and i was pleasantly surprised. Way more fun then Bowmont or 12 mile IMO

Glad to hear several riders hit up (and enjoyed) the new trails on the South side of West Bragg Creek. The North side only has one good option (Telephone Ridge out+back) but it sounds like people are trying to loop it so I've added a 'MTB friendly' map of the North trails to the 'West Bragg' page on the potlicker blog site. Also added some GPS info and route options for North and South sections in 'Top Picks'
Telephone Ridge is one of my favourite evening rides (when no dogs are going to jump out on you mid-air) - too much traffic at the weekends. Living a 'warm-up ride' away and some parental loyalty from the build may be a factor but it's one to add to the TODO list!
Here's the link to the blog if you haven't bookmarked it yet:

P.S. I'm going to have the chainsaw out tomorrow to clear the one big tree on Ridgeback. Any others biggies I can take care off? Sounds like Pneuma is done?

Bragging Rights and Reconnect on Sunday. Reconnect is a good grunt to the top. Some very cool sections of trail.

Having a hard time imagining a harmonious co-existence between equestrian sect and everyone else on these new trails. Time will tell I guess...

It's good until just below Race (haven't been higher).

Moose Mountain road is still full of ruts and some big rocks. it's drying up but be careful as it is really easy to flat.

Just when you thought summer was here... looks like a chance of snow West of Calgary for Friday. Damn it.

RoS is 95% good to go,

first skinny = still has snow
there were 3 trees that i couldn't clear myself and will need a saw (which i didn't have)

other than that, it's drier than most times i remember last summer! stoked

Hand saw or chain saw (i.e. 10" or >10")?
I cleared the big tree on Ridgeback this morning but didnt fancy risking my car driving up to the top of Pneuma on the off-chance of needing a chain saw up there. I'll ride a bunch of this stuff tomorrow with a decent handsaw so let me know if that will be sufficient (otherwise I'll check top of Pneuma and give Moose Packers a look first).
Thanks for the info, great to here its 95% G2G which I would guess would mean Packers is 90% or so (especially with one more day at 24C) - anyways nice to cool your feet down in some snow after climbing all of Pneuma!!
