they do deserve a dedicated thread but not enough people ride them to get a good one going. But yes they are amazing.

sick bike man, how well does it handle trail riding and DH

Posted: Jun 11, 2008 at 19:33 Quote
thats a damn good question, i was looking at getting one of those, and asked myself the same thing. as stupid as it sounds i was even considering giving it a boxxer team if i got it. but it looks like it would be similar to the uzzi.

Its the best all round bike ive ever ridden.
similar AM characteristics to say a spec enduro/rm slayer but dh characteristics of a socom.
its light too
theres a guy on here with an ss with XTR triple rings and boxxer WC's and he uses it as an am bike. lol
ill try and find a picture

hahahah he could have atleast went drs! other then that smart.... and people say you couldn't give it a dual crown! thanks man

Posted: Jun 12, 2008 at 17:47 Quote
that is a confused bike. i'de never ride triple rings on something like that but aside from that he's got the right idea (and i bet it handles sick either way)

i know the socom and m6 are good for DH but are they anygood for freerideing?

Posted: Jun 12, 2008 at 18:25 Quote
if you want a more versitile DH race bike get the M3 or if you want freeride get the Uzzi VPX. The socom is to light for the constant abuse of freeriding and the M6 is a full on FRO bike so i would say don't ride freeride with it

its not the strength or weight that will hold those bikes back for freeride, ive seen plenty of single crown soccoms.
its the geometry that will hold them back, both are fairly long bikes and have race geo. thats why the SS and uzzi are in the intense line up(no uzzi this year mind..)!
