Lapierre{France} have a good range also, Cube and Bionicon from Germany - think Nicolai are German too.

On-one make incredibly cheap but absolutely excellent hardtails - huge cult following in the UK. Orange has already been mentioned, look out for Cotic too.

There are others, i'll post them as my feeble mind gives them up

Cube, Lapierre, Bianchi, etc.. There's a lot of good bike companies in Europe, only problem is availibility in North America.

Morewood are South African.
Also Spanish brand Mondraker make some nice bikes.
