I am thinking of putting a 170mm Rockshox lyrik because i cant find a 160mm suspension. 170mm of suspension will not effecting the geometry of the bike?

I have been searching on the web, and the only settings I found is 150 / 160mm suspension on same bike, nothing above 160mm.

You should be fine IIRC Spesh says our frames are safe w/up to a 170 in the front. There are a lot of guys even running 180's. However that doesn't mean you will like the way it feels. ANY change to the suspension WILL change the geometry.

What bike? Can't find a 160mm fork. More options in 160 than 170.

Sorry, my bike is a enduro sl expert 09". The place/website have only 170 instead 160mm

But using a bigger suspension wont damage the frame right?

Should be fine I had an 09 Pitch I used to run a 170mm fork on for park days. It will change the Geo like stated though. Will slacken it out. Will be awesome on the DH a little slower on the climbs.

2000 Specialized Enduro. Still Going Strong!

2000 Specialized Enduro Comp 17 . Heavily Upgraded. Converted to 1X.

2000 Specialized Enduro Comp 17 . Heavily Upgraded. Converted to 1X.

The bike is almost 15 years old with over 30k miles on it and is still a blast to ride. Just converted it to 1X.

Still riding this bike today, works great. All the frame bearings are still nice and tight and smooth. Some of the upgrades I've made to the 2000 Specialized Enduro Comp (17") bike:

2000 Fox Vanilla R Coil-Over (700lb. spring)
2001 Marzocchi Bomber Z1 MCR w/ ECC (130mm)
1X9 Shimano XT/ Raceface drivetrain
(1996 Shimano XT 5-bolt Compact Crankarms, Raceface 32t Race Ring, Shimano 9-Speed HG-61 11t-36t Cassette-replaced 12t with 11t cog, Shimano 9-Speed XT M-771-SGS Rear Mech, XTR cables/housing, 1998 Avid Rollamajig )
Custom Fabricated Chain Keeper
Shimano Saint Platform Pedals
Maxxis High Roller 2.35 rear tire (MaxxPro 60a, Kevlar)
WTB MutanoRaptor 2.4 front tire (DNA compound, Kelvar)
Titec DH kTi Saddle
Oury Grips
Stock everything else

The only thing Specialized about that frame is the decals.

Anyone Send their Shock out to be Pushed? Was thinking about it but seems they don't service the fox CTD shocks without the boost valve.

Have also been looking at switching out the shock for a CCDB inline or a Monarch plus. But seems Spec changed the stroke length on the shock. So the enduro fits the 8.5 x 2.25 rather then 8.5 x 2.5 not an ideal situation. Anyone switched out their shock for anything other then the ccdb air or ccdb air cs.

Hi guys sorry if this has been asked before but this thread is massive. I have just purchased and 06 enduro frame which will be my winter project (pics o follow). However I am thinking about forks. What travel do people find is optimum. I am looking at fitting a set of 150mm travel forks, but most seem to fit 160mm. I can get a great deal on new revs 150mm with a straight steerer and would prefer new to an old fork set. Any thoughts?

I prefer the 160, if you use the slacker head angle shuttle the bike should feel just fine with a 150 tup

I have 160mm float 36 on my 05 enduro, which are perfect for bike park riding, but for general trail riding 150mm would probably be best.
