best way to photograph fire?

I just started experimenting with nbr photos recently (usually just shoot biking) and im curious if you any of you photo gurus have any good pointers on how to get good looking shots of fire.

my camera is a nikon d40

Well for fire, I'd deffinatly use Shutter Priority. Fire is an odd thing to shoot as some is very bright and some low lit. So set it on "S" Now the round clicker on the camera then you turn to change up shutter speed is what you will use. Go Through different shutter speeds.From fast to slow,And examine/pick the best shutter for the photo you want. As well as go with a higher iso so you can lower the shutter a bit for neat flow effect.
