Saw them on Monday at bottom of crank it up....normally cubs make for a scary mama bear but they were 10' from me and seemed to care less!

Bears in whistler are harmless. I got about 5 ft away from this guy. He could care less I was there. It was like I didn't exist. Almost hit him on crank it up and he didn't flinch.

I hit a bear on A-Line once. He got spooked and ran away.

Yeah last year after Crankworks we were riding down the family x or whatever the hell the trail is called through boneyard. I almost clipped a big one that was standing on the last jump. It is amazing how close they will get to humans. We also so a momma bear and her cubs on the trail that goes around lost lake. They didn't even look at us.

Ya they're harmless. Well black bears are. Not sure why people are so afraid of them. If you see a grizzly don't stop. They will eat you lol. Black bears mostly eat berries, grass and and bugs.

Whistler is always fun, even more in the wet. Just stay off the rebuilt trails. (Top of aline, and bottom of crank it up mostly) Ride the tech instead.
