My buddy and I are planning to stay from the 3rd to the 19th or 20th of August! Could anyone offer up some good, inexpensive hotels to look into? Some that are bike friendly and include things such as laundry, security, and even a kitchen so we can make our own food. The hotel doesn't have to be right in the village, it can be a little ways away (5-10 minutes riding?) from the main lift.
What is everyone's experience for staying an extended period of time? Any tips on how to save some money when staying over 2 weeks?

I would say look for a condo rental a bachelor suite with a pull out couch would give you both a bed and many have in suite laundry. Or post an add on Craigslist asking for a place for 2 weeks and what your willing to pay. I saw one add that rents rooms in a nice condo for 450 per person for the month, that would get two off you a shared room for 900 for the two weeks your there.

Make your own lunches rather than eating on the mountain, avoid drinks/eating out after riding. LOLJK that's not going to happen but if you could avoid it, you should.

I say if you're gonna stay in whistler for only 2 weeks, do it right. You're on holidays, go for apres everyday! It's part of the experience, in my opinion. you can be cheap and save money before and after your vacation.
