After reading this thread I want to revamp my Metalhead. Thanks for keeping one of the best Dirtjumping frames ever made.

Sadly mine is stripped down again, the cracks in the gussets have come back. I've been told by some not to worry about it but its hard to ignore a crack in your frame. Question is do I get it repaired again and heat treated? I just can't let this beast die!

I miss my baby blue Metalhead. I know where it is but he doesn't want To sell it back to me. Still have a flat black one. If you ever want to get rid of yours BenC please keep me in mind.

Thanks and great looking bike

It's uncanny how like the Planet X Jack Flash the Metal head is. The gussets and chainstays look very similar.

That's planet X for you. Ripping off other design ideas sell it cheap and people think it's the same. But pretty sure frank the welder hasn't done a stint from the states to Taiwan.

I'm not saying it's the same, but it's similar. And my Planet X Jack Flash is epic, especially for £60 fully built up with middle of the range components...

The Planet X is a direct copy of the geometry. It's got disk mounts and I don't think it's got horizontal dropouts. Obviously it's not hand made by ftw.

It's not a bad frame, just not the Metalhead!

Yep, vertical dropouts on my Planet X. It's an amazing frame.
