And please tell me it was nailed to the backside of trees !!!
Safer that was as it'll just blow apart when you hit it

Oh man it wasn't nailed, it was lagged in with 4 at least 1/2" diameter lag bolts...
I have pics of that too, I'll put them up later....
Its getting torn out next weekend.

Oh ya and its a good thing they used ceramic screws to secure those untreated spruce 2x4 slats down!

"Damn, one leg is too short, better scab on an extension!"

It should last for years. He was smart and didn't put any pine below grade so it would rot. :headsmack
I built a solid jump out of wood a couple seasons ago. People hit it all the time, they took 2 slats off the middle of it for this jump!! I saw some skid marks off to the side of my jump. Could have seriously hurt someone and definitely will with this jump. They didn't pre drill the wood so where the lags are are all cracked

I will do my best to ask some questions to any of the usual suspects...... That is the scariest looking thing I have seen in some time.

don't need that junk. Have a dh mtb

ps. taking a season off snowboarding. Scrapex is fun and all, but gets old fast. Might hit up big white and revy a few times this year if they get some "snow days"

opening day at Revy is going to be a "snow day" for sure.
