That is a really good idea thank you. I'm going to use it I just have a quick question what should I use for the bb to hold it in place? I was thinking a old steel bb with plugs where the bearings are held in place with a bolt through the middle. One last thing where do you guys buy your steel I'm currently looking for a place to buy high quality steel at I was thinking 4130 chromoly.

I get my straight gauge tubing from here http://www.aircraftspruce.ca And my st, ht, bb from here http://solidbikes.bigcartel.com

I have ordered from aircraft spruce many times and a guy I know is building a plane with tubing from there, so they have good quality stuff. I don't think they are are out of business I was just on their website the other day, must just be maintenance.

That's pretty snazzy! A full pic of your jig would be pretty ace to see.

here's another pic of it from the front- shows my seat tube holder. if you look closely you can see what i meant by the head tube dies taking different size headtube cones- this one is a 1 1/8th to 1.5" integrated tapered.

super sophisticated clamping design, im sure you'll notice haha Wink

Check out the stuff that Paragon Machine makes, their dropouts are works of art. Theirs will be used on my next frame.

If you can't get chromo MS or G350 plate it will weld to chromo no worries and easier to work with. 5mm or 6mm will be all good.

alted knows good, 5 or 6mm if you're planning on hanging it down below the chainstay. if you're sandwiching it between the toptube and the seat-tube and/or making a 3d structure on your dropout, you can use 4mm no worries at all.
