You keep this thread alive, keep up the good sh*t man. Is the plate for the shock mounts laser cut or grinder work?
haha well i like the thread! iv never found anything else like it on the interwebz. all the plate stuff is waterjet cut mate...the grinder still get a say in all the miters and chamfers but i try to keep all the plate work for to the computers as much as i can to save my sanity.
haha i see someone's been stalking my distinct lack of bike-fad related charm well i cant have just anyone be buying my frames now can i...they'll harass me post-sale with all sorts of stupid complaints like "my frame is too steel" and "my wheels are too small".
Here are my latest offerings to the frame building gods!
This is the first frame that I have made that isn't for me, so have reset the counter to 001 26" - static specs are - HA | 64º @140mm travel SA | 74º CS | 415mm TT | 585mm BB | 20mm drop
test build with 150mm forks
And have just finished 002 26" - static specs are HA | 65º SA | 74º CS | 415mm TT | 600mm BB | 20mm drop weight - just over 5lbs
whats with head angles these days? iv played with everything down to 58 degrees, and i find anything less than 64.5 just sort of flops and wanders even at high speed...kills yr turning ability!
but other than that, nice detail on those frame...where's you get those laser etched gussets? nice frames too- good, simple, classic lines and nice stays/dropouts- cant really do better than that! now just work on yr welds haha
