Honestly, i'd have to check, but it starts with a C. I've also been taking ibuprofen alongside that.

An update.

So i have nerve damage in my shoulder. There's a small patch where i cant feel anything. It's on the front of my shoulder, near the armpit.

It's not the main nerve line that connects from my spine, so luckily i can feel all my hands and move my arm as normal.

I've been told it's a much smaller one, the branches out.

Whats the possibility, such a small nerve can grow back? And is there anything doctors can do to repair such a small nerve?

I want to be sure if theres anything that can be done, for it to be done.
I've tried researching online, and haven't found a definitive answer.

Any one qualified enough to answer my question here, or is there another medical forum i should go too?

Broke my collarbone today. It's almost 90 degrees, and close to poking out the skin. Have to check up on it constantly.

My neck also hurts quite abit. Is that normal?

Going to get surgery and have a plate installed.

The question is, do i get the plate removed after it's done healing? I dont want to run the risk of crashing and breaking it again whilst the plate is installed.

U will have the plate for approx 6 month. A bone is 100 % healed after this period. Many people go ride again after 2 months , which is wrong. U have to stay at least 3 month.

I was told i should take the plate out a year later. So just to be clear, after the surgery, i'll be out for 3 months, or is that after i remove the plate?

A friend of mine go to the road after 3 month with the plate. And take out the plate after 6 month.

I have a sling only. It hurts like crazy but I must be a lucky man then. My bone hasn't shifted upward. I'm still scared though. Haven't worked since either which can drive someone nuts. I wish you well.

That sounds like emergency surgery if it can poke out! The doctor let you go home?

A few specialists had a look at it, and for whatever reason, decided i didn't need emergency surgery. There is a risk of the skin getting damaged and what not, but i have to keep an eye on it. If it gets any worse, that's E-surgery for me. Besides, i took it like a man, barely showed any signs of pain, which is probably why they didn't take me in straight away.

I prefer to wait regardless. Do my research, and ask you guys for advice.

Don t be scared man u gonna be ok. U will start to feel much bettter after week 5 ( after week 5 u will feel better hour by hour that pass)

Living in the USA you only get so much time of leave with job protection. I've found out today I have more time than I thought. I've only seen one Ortho Doctor the last three weeks. Would going to an other Doctor just to make sure , a second opinion a good idea? I think I know the answer. I'd love to hear others feedback

I was at 7 or 8 doctors. They can t see nothing there because the bone start to glue after 4 weeks. After week 5 u will start to feel something good happend there. When u wake up in the morning u will feel it. And if u have some days that u feel much worse than yestarday don t worry , it s a good thing the healing process it s working (so sometimes bad is good ) . After those 2 worse days u will fell much much much better. Those things happend to me , and i was verry scared , i thaught that i will never heal again!!

In Romania doctors can give 3 month to stay home

In the U.S. we get three months. However I used ten weeks in the beginning of 2015 and did not have too much time left in the rolling year. Found out yesterday I do have the time which takes stress away. This morning I woke up smoother than other mornings.
Question again. When u broke yours what pain pills did they give you? Pain pills scare me because they can become addictive and I'm on week three on them and they are not working as well. What was ur experience?

Going to get surgery and have a plate installed.

U will have the plate for approx 6 month. A bone is 100 % healed after this period. Many people go ride again after 2 months , which is wrong. U have to stay at least 3 month.

Rubbish. I rode the Alps just under 6 weeks from point of having the plate put in. Doctor advised 8 weeks minimum but I was already booked and wasn't going to miss out. It was a little achy each evening but nothing to complain about. You don't want a heavy crash at this point though as it could cause much worse bone damage. I took it easy, maybe 50-70% for the first few days and up to about 80% last day or two. Was fine.

As for removing the plate, my surgeon said its optional, usually 12-18 months later depending upon how it feels. Unless its causing agro, I wouldnt bother.

Going into surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM.

The surgeon's going to cut a slit directly under my collarbone, and will be installing a plate with screws.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly as planned.

Any suggestions for pre surgery would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers
