I’m in the market for a new ride and would like some feedback on my 2 choices. I do several different types of riding from light DH, freeride & light XC. I currently ride a ’06 Coiler, but want a little more travel & better components. Yeah I know, I could upgrade a bunch of stuff on the Coiler, but would rather start off on a new platform.
I ride a 08 giant glory one and absolutly love it. It is great for dh and freeride and tons of fun to ride.The maestro suspension is great and there is no brake jack.at first i found it a little heavy but after a while i got used to it.I say go for the glory one.
if i had to choose between the glory 1 and the pinn'r id go dh glory but if i had to choose between the glory 1 and the bike in the url i pasted.. id go the bike in the url (mongoose boot'r)
go for the glory i have a mongoose black diamond double with the freeedrive system and to be honest im not too impressed....maybe it just wasnt the bike 4 me
get the glory for sure! the suspension is super nice with the maestro suspension system, it holds the weight low and it kills berms like Jason is slaying people. The freedrive system is mediocre in my opinion. I have ridden the glory and the Mongoose Kyber(somewhat similar to Pinn'r), and i have to say the glory is so much more fun to ride.
this is actually a really good comparison. Maestro works excellent, and so does the FreeDrive. Both bike spec's leave room for upgrades, and there is no hands down better spec.
I am a fan of Mongoose, and their 2009 line up is very nice. Here are some reviews of the Pinn'r:
The Glory has an MSRP of $3000, but it looks like you can get it for $2700. I have seen the Pinn'r going for $2200. If you get a Pinn'r you can use the $500 for upgrades. Either way, both are nice bikes, and I am sure you won't be disappointed, whichever you choose.
