I just took my bike apart to paint it and started stripping it, and it's not working nearly as well as I thought. I'm using 5f5 paint stripper and I've put on three coats, each time wiping with a rag and scraper. It's coming off, but looks like it'll take at least 2-3 more coats. What am I doing wrong?

Brush on a thick layer and leave it overnight.

I'll try an overnight layer, what seems to work also is a wire brush on a cordless drill after using the paint stripper. I'll post pics when it's done.

is it possible to strip only a certain part of a frame? like say i want to keep the red on the frame bellow and strip off the white, would it be possible? not my bike but i have the same frame.
