Swissair charges $ 200 from NorAm to get to Euro EACH WAY.

AIr Berlin $ 50 per bike each way if you pack it nicely in a hockey bag. see Article on Travelling to Switzerland [/Quoten]

There is the price, but also the time.

On postcanada website, tell says: 4-6 week, so ites very long... I leave at the begenning of July, so will propably have time to ride 2-3 time.

How does it work with the airplane compagny? we can ship if we dont have a travel ticket?

Hi all

I'm going to Switzerland in august to visit family
I will do only 2 days of mountain biking Confused:
so I would like the best spot!

one day XC with my girlfriend (that mean easy trail, not too technical): need bike and helmet rental
And one day DH (with chairlift, bike and protection rental)

I will be in bettmeralp the first 4 days, then around Luzern, but I don't mind going anywhere else

your suggestion are welcome!!!

If you're in bettmeralp I'd recommend the bikepark bellwald or crans montana for DH and Rosswald or Belalp for an easier ride. I'd look around in a Bikeshop in Brig for a rental.

When in Lucerne, you'd have to go to Uri (Schattdorf) for a real DH-Track since they're scarce around here. PM me for more details on the luzern trails or if you'd like to come riding with us (www.flowzone.ch)

Hi;

Just moved to CH 3 months ago, I really love riding, and here there are more chances for doing it that from were I came from (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain [not close to it at all but...]). I was thinking on buying a not too expensive DH/FR bike, looking at the Scott Voltage FR 30 or a Bergamont can't remeber now the name.

Well, approaching to the point, I need people to ride with, I live in Tessin, Locarno zone.

If I can't find anyone to ride with I'll have to Buy a DJ bike, I like them, left one before moving, but I really want to ride down Wink
Hope I can find someone,

Paolo.

Switzerland and Canada seem to be in a citizen exchange program ;-)

You'll find few built trails in Lucerne and agglomeration. We now have an official short trail with obstacles and jumps (www.freeride-connection.ch) and lots of small wild stuff. But you get to almost every Bikepark in Switzerland in about 2 hours by car or train, so no worry there ;-)

Send me a PM when you arrive and we'll arrange something.

Bettmeralp is right in the middle of Aletsch Arena and has some really, really good enduro trails with breathtaking scenery. Fiesch has a pretty gnarly DH trail and like FlowZone said Bellwald is a nearby bike park as well as Crans Montana. Both are my favs, but I would check out the trails near Bettmeralp, its like an enduro mecca.

It's also good to take into account that the Bettmeralp enduro trails are also very beloved by hikers, so if you go there, go during the week, you'll get the most flow out of them ;-)
The Fiesch DH is very steep on average and long (12+min if I remember right), but there are no huge drops nor very technical passages, if it was less steep it would be pretty easy, hope you get the idea.
