Hi! does anybody use XTC frame for rough and aggressive riding?
Few years ago, before STP , Giant Team used XTC Small sized frames for 4x races.

Show me pics of your XTC non-cross country builds. (you know - big tires, plush forks, riser bars etc.)

Interesting concept... I truly wonder how durable those frames are when used in a 4X application. I'm using an 07 Trance framset as my 4X bike, and its considered to be AM. I'd like to see some photos too

I use my bike in the opposite way. I use my SC blur 4x for all mountain

i've had XtC's since i've been riding (6 years) i use them for light xc and racing and i've cracked a few at the headtube (hence i've had so many of them from warrenty) so NO DO NOT USE IT FOR ANYTHING MORE THAN XC because you will DIESalute

notice how thats the realy old XtC.. things have changed it's now become a much more XC race bike. get an STP

STP is too small for me. I don't need another jump bike. 16" frame is minimum for me , 17" would be perfect. There is also a Giant Brass but it looks so shitty I can't look at it...

Nate of PB, rode a old ATX hardtail it was a 14" or something really small, it had a Manitou XC fork on it. Anyway it eventually cracked at the chainstay...but not after countless road gaps and hucks. Bottom line is when you use a frame for anything other then it's intended purpose, you are taking a risk and if the frame breaks you have nothing to complain about. However if your smooth and not a HACK, it might be a wicked good idea, definately one I am throwing around.

STP seems like the obvious choice here. Just get a seatpost for it.

I saw an XTC racing 4X at Sea Otter two years ago.

I asked the rider about it and he said it was really a custom 4X bike that Giant made for some of their team riders and it had just been painted to look like an XTC for marketing.
I hope that is of use.

shit, I thought that was normal xtc frame. But maybe they had just special geo?

If I buy STP I would need ~420-440mm seatpost... Thomson, Roox, or Syntace and maximum extended. Eh... I need to think this over
