Seems stupid that we can't wear hats/sunglasses on the podium. What if we have sponsor's hats and/or have an eyewear sponsor?

You are missing the bigger picture. Tufrack is trying to enhance/promote the Ontario DH scene by raising the quality of the total program which includes how the podium pictures present to the general public.

The “no” hat and sunglass rule has no affect on 98% of the participants. For those 2% that may be affected by the rule, a simple conversation with the organizer may yield an exception. The rule is designed to eliminate the cowboy hats, wool toques and outrageous sunglasses; it is not designed to eliminate cycle sponsor industry wear.

It seems more like 90% are wearing hats to me.......sunglasses also hahahaha

Are you sure this is actually a rule? I don't understand why wearing a hat or sunglasses makes a difference to the race organizer? I know for sure that the team I ride needs me to wear a hat on the podium and I have never had a problem with standing on the podium with my sunglasses on so are you sure this is a rule?

Are you honestly comparing a World Cup Podium with the O-Cup?

as an unsupported rider who wouldn't podium without a ton of luck, i really don't care. i'd be more worried about the "clean racing uniform" line lol

I would guess that less than 2% of the riders on the O-Cup have sponsorship deals that have formal arrangements in place for promotion. Please don’t confuse sponsorship with free swag.

I agree that could be problematic for a privateer who has only one race kit. Chances are if you’re on the podium, you didn’t go down and got dirty!

ok well what about that 2%?I know for certain that there are quite a few riders representing Oakley. They cant wear glasses?

The reason why you cant wear sun glasses and a hat is because it is a uci rule but we will not be enforcing it strongly

the rule is to keep non series sponsors from getting the props on the podium,it is a uci rule, however i really could care less as long as we keep it clean, however be aware the commisares can enforce it we just post the rules so you are all aware of them

coming from somebody who isn't of age of majority, i don't think you'll find the no drinking on race site an issue.

are we allowed to have some brews while we watch runs after we have our own race run? (ie up on the side of the track with a dude try these naco's sign. please say john looks and see's this)

I'm pretty sure underage drinking hasn't been stopped at the track before... jus sayin. And Nate, just put it into something less obvious and you'll have no problems Smile As long as you're not belligerent because of alcohol nobody will be wiser haha
