anything thats close to a 2:1 ratio works well

i run a 36-16 on a 26' rim... works niceley good acceleration decent cruising speed and not to bad for climbing neither.

right now im using a halflink chain with the 32-14 ratio and i hate it cause i snap a link like every 2 rides cause it doesnt work right with my bashgaurd and my ss kit. do you think i could get away with a ss chain and not run a tensioner.

32 - 16 works the best that I've found. i mainly ride trails that also involve a bit of climbing as well as some street.

One to one works well. 18/36 11/22

32:16 seems quite common so it must work good lol it works quite well for me

i used to ride 32-16 but i traded rear cogs with my friend that was 34-14 so now im 32-14 and hes 34-16

you need some sort of way to tension the chain. i used to run a dmr tensioner when i had vert dropouts and never ran into a problem. Look into a stronger chain you may have to space out your bash guard to run a larger chain.

yea i got the halflink at the perfect tension without using my tensioner right now but it keeps breaking so i was just wondering if i would be able to get an ss chain in with no hassle cause i hate tensioners
