I'm running 38/17, haven't tried it yet. I used to run an 18t on back, tried out 36/21, and couldn't get my chain.like right and my chain breaker wont break my chain anymore. So it's only 38/17 or 38/18 for me.

They work well, but once I get my bmx cranks(Stolen team), I'll feel better.

Has anyone tried 28:14 on a dirt jumper? Right now on my p3 I have 32:16. When I get a mob frame i'm thinking 28:14?
28 14 is too light im running 30 14 currently and it feels just a little too light 30 13 is prime!

Yeah exactly. Double the rear + 2. Or +4 if you want it stouter. I have 30/14 also and will probably go to 13.

I run 25/12 on my 26" street bike... perfect blend of speed and powa

I'd say everything between 2.27 and 2.33 is a perfect singlespeed gear ratio.

44X16 isn't bad

Not too quick off the line but top speed is there when you got to cover some miles to the spot

I ran a 44-16 on my BMX bike for probably 20 years before all this tiny gear stuff came out.

Most racers i know use this too on bmx.
With smaller gearing i did like 30/9 , on track with a park bike but im no racer.
Was bit hard on small parks but good for trails iny opinion.

Yeah, 72 gear inches is pretty stout! (You're talking about 26" wheels I assume).

I've done it before on 22" wheel, as well as around that on my singlespeed road bike.

Yeah it's pushin a lot of gear" on a 26 for the hills here in SF. I avoid them cuz the bike just won't go uphil for long. It's stubborn like a mule. We take the scenic route. You need the speed in traffic though. The helpless feeling of spinning out at the orange light is not for me.
