Hey! I went riding in New Zealand last year and absolutely loved it. I want to take a bunch of friends riding in New Zealand sometime in the near future, but I only know of Woodhill and a couple random forest trails I found and a golf course, that was fun riding on the golf course. I scared the shit out of one old lady, funniest thing ever. But anyways I would like to know some really great Freeride and DH parks, trails and riding spots.
Thanks.

i was there a few years ago, there is some minor stuff in Naseby (sp) on the south island. more xc oriented but the guy at the lbs rode with us and showed us some sweet stuff. outside of Taupo is good too, wairiki forest, think spelled wrong for sure. and there is some good stuff in Rotorua, didnt ride there but heard that its phenomenal. have fun, think i am going back to study abroad and cant wait to ride there again.

Drop In NZ is always a good starter... But best way to go is to ride with the locals.
Check Vorb out, its a NZ run mtb website along the same lines as PB.
Also, get in touch with Ryan at the Freeride Inn for good place to ride around Auckland.

What kind of riding do you do and what bike would you be taking? Queenstown is pretty much the best for freeride and dirt jump kind of scene, and Rotorua is great for all day smooth epic riding. Depends on where you are going and what bike/riding style you want to do

Christchurch port hills has good downhilling but best for all round dirt jumping and DH would be Queenstown and Wanaka-all in the south island
