Is there something special to decals / stickers, so that they can be clear coated? How well does the paint stick?

Great process bay the way!

The decals are just off eBay, only cheap. What I wanted is the letters to be white, that's why I painted the frame white first, then got black decals, so I could see what the position was like before the next coat.
As for the paint sticking to it, when I pulled the decals off the paint on top of the decals, some came off, but some stayed on.
Thinking if you was to just lacquer them maybe a light key first with a scotch pad lightly or two coat of lacquer.. But that's only guessing I have to do some tests first..

I cleared over my ebay decals and has held up fine. I wish I could find someone to make me some water transfer decals for the spesh. I think they would look a lot cleaner and hvae less of a build when cleared over.

I heard you can get water transfer printer paper and make your own.
