Seriously respected both of those guys.
On a more positive note though.
DD's frame is looking sick. How much more do you have to do to get it finished?

Out of curiosity, how come you based the geometry off a 831? Aren't they quite tall? Wont this make the front end look super high in order to get a steep head angle?

I was always under the impression that an 831 had a low A2C

A Fox Float 32's A2C can range from 450.9mm at 80mm travel to 490.9mm at 120mm travel. An 831 is pretty much a 32, so you can expect its A2C to be similar or equal.

Well first of all, its designed around an 80mm 831 which has an axel to crown of 451mm (basically as short as susp shorts get at 80mm). With the valving of the 831, which significantly ramps up towards the end of the stroke i only use 60mm max. This means that the 71.75 HA at full extension (un compressed) will become a 74.75 degree HA when fully compressed, (ie, 60mm for me because of valving and i ride it stiff as well). However, it is also designed to accomodate a rigid fork while maintaining excellent geometry. The NS rns specifically was considered (420mm axel to crown). With that fork, the HA would be a perfect 73.25 degrees. that coupled with a +2/3 or so bb, the rigid will also feel great.

in short:
Because i have one
No, 450mm
No, short fork +short headtube + (+10bb height)

That's why I personally don't like it. There was a reason why a friend bought a Howie with a Fall Guy rear end way back and it wasn't just for the 14mm by 110mm spacing.

Don't think it looks nice because of my opinion on the Howie, but thats just my opinion.
