currently contemplating fitting an 8.5 i2i shock to my Canfield Jedi, instead of the stock 8.75 i2i. Struggling to do any maths to see how much slacker the bike would get, i know loss in travel would be very small though. Anyone think the bike might get too slack and low? Just i know offset bushings can drop i2i by about 5mm, and the shorter damper lengths a tiny bit more than that.

Current head angle sits at 66/65 degrees, not cool kid slack i know, but i don't want to go much slacker than 64/63 degrees

opinions?

Isnt it 10mm drop in front suspension is 1 degree?

I cant see it changing much at all really. Not for 1/4 inch.

well you can get 3mm offset bushings, so with two its 6mm in total and can yield a few degrees. Me reducing the damper size, would be a 6.35mm shorter shock (effectively two offset bushings therefore) and maybe 2 degrees slacker? Just i'm unsure if the shorter stoke length will be a major burden, and if the already low bottom bracket will get ridiculously low. Am tempted to buy a cheap shock, or mock one up to try it before splashing cash, and wondered if anyone had any experience?

Just get the same stroke shock, I switch between a 9.5x3 and a 9x3 all the time

6mm stroke going to make that big a difference? looking at that with the leverage ratio on linkage i reckon i'll loose a tiny bit more that half inch off the beginning and end of the travel. Its hard to find one with the same stroke is all!

More than a half inch on most bikes... so, you'd go from 8" travel to 7.4" or so.

1 inch in travel in the front is roughly 1 degree. Not 10mm.

Pictures of the FRAME as requestedlollol

One problem i have is that while fitting the cranks (X0) i noticed that the drive-side face wasn't in contact with the BB bearing, i have one spacer either side of the BB as recommended by santa cruz and the non drive side bolt is as tight as recommended so i have no idea whats going on.
