Now that I know what this trail is called I know exactly where it is. Literally worse than Hitler.

Derailleur allingment gauge
Saved my derailleur many times yet surprisingly even though I once bashed a root with my derailleur causing my chainring to hit a rock and bend sending me flat on my back into a steep chute once i switched from the old x9/0 to a saint which i ran but needed 10 speed so i could run some more all mountain and earn your turn dh with a 28 while still having an 11 with an x0 dh rear derailleur i have had no problems with derailleurs breaking riding many of the same trails as Carmichael (you're talking about 38 right?). my xo dh and saint have both proven themselves to be very strong
guess I'm just lucky
*knock on wood*

Longest run on sentence of my life. Have no idea what you said.

I nearly passed out from not being able to breathe the entire time. Please try to use grammar...
shit, still had a fever at that point but tried to make it comprehensible.
Derailleur allingment gauges are a very useful tool to have. I've broken many past x0s and x9s. I ride many rough trails and thrash my derailleurs. The derailleur allingment gauge has saved me many times as far as bent hangers and derailleurs. However, the new x0 dh 10 speed and saint nine speed have had no issues despite bashing them hard on rocks and roots. What derailleurs are other people breaking?
Btw I'm running a short cage.
Knock on wood.
hope that made more sense through my scarlet fever delirium

much appreciated. I think the most common break is anything not short cage... I've yet to really mangle one. I've snapped a couple of cages, and been able to repair them but both were XOs.

there was this time I crashed and only bent the hanger inwards without realizing, the I needed low gears and by the way it was bent the cage of my 2009 saint short cage got caught on the spokes and broke in an instant, I was pedaling hard to get over a short incline but did not have the chance to stop in time to prevent it from breaking

Does anyone know what the hubs are on the stock '10 Specialized SX Trail II. The rims are rebranded DT Swiss FR550 but I'm not sure if the hubs are DT or Joytech.

We were having shit at work the other week trying to find out about something like this.(inb4coolstorybro)

But from what I remember the specialized hi-lo's, as they're branded, are just old DT onyx hubs...

However I might be wrong...

I sent a link to Mr. IT Moneybags several days ago, with any luck he bought them all up.

I'm running dual ply 3C wire beads and I like them. they seem to have almost infinite traction when leaned way over. They do have a very unusual transition though, they have a spot where you lose traction before the side knobs bite fully.

Dont forget though, that the exo versions use harder compounds.

Reason why I'm tempted by the exo protection is that my last ardent which didn't have it, I managed to rip a 3inch hole in the sidewall

I had a 3c exo minion, I didn't like it tbh, I had a super tacky on before it, and the drop in grip was too much, I'll just be taking the weight penalty of dual plys

Ended up buying some Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35 tyres, hard on the bank but hopefully will be good

They are a good choice bud very impressed with my set, just make sure you run both compounds, pacestar rear and trailstar front as the softer pacestar will wear quick out back.

Correction trailstar is the softer.

Not a fan of the ardent, except for drifting the shit out of corners.
